The Buyer's Guide · 2026A guide for serious buyers4

Costly mistakes most people make when buying a hyperbaric chamber.

And how to avoid them. Plus the complete Oxify Chamber Selection Guide.

Written for in-market buyersVol. 03
A note before you begin

Don't spend $50,000 on the wrong chamber.

There's a technology that Navy SEALs, NASA, Fortune 500 CEOs, and hall-of-fame athletes have quietly been using for decades to stay sharp, recover faster, and slow the clock on their bodies. If you're reading this, you've already heard about it — and you're considering bringing one home.

Here's the problem. The hyperbaric chamber market is messy. There are real differences between brands, models, and pressure ratings — and most companies don't make those differences obvious. Buyers regularly spend $30,000 to $80,000 on a chamber and discover months later that they bought the wrong one for their goals.

This guide exists to make sure that doesn't happen to you. We'll walk you through how hyperbaric oxygen actually works, the four most common mistakes we see buyers make, and how to know which chamber fits your situation before you spend a dollar.

Read it carefully. Ask us anything. When you're ready to talk, we'll help you get this right the first time.

Who really uses this

Not just billionaires, Navy SEALs, and hall-of-fame athletes. People like you, too.

You've probably seen LeBron James step out of a pod on Instagram, or heard Peyton Manning mention it in an interview. NASA uses it to train astronauts. The Navy uses it for SEALs recovering from deployment. Some of the most recognizable names in business quietly run daily sessions in their own homes.

But you don't need a pro contract or a billion dollars to benefit. More and more of the people bringing a chamber home are everyday people — busy parents, professionals, retirees, weekend athletes — who simply want more energy, deeper sleep, a clearer head, and more good years. No diagnosis required. Just a commitment to feeling their best for as long as possible.

This isn't new technology. It's been used in hospitals and specialized clinics for over 50 years. What's new is that you no longer need a hospital to access it.

Section 02 · The basics

What hyperbaric oxygen therapy actually is — and why it works.

You sit or lie in a sealed chamber that gently raises the pressure around your body, while breathing oxygen that's close to 100% pure. That's it. That's the whole idea.

Normal air is only about 21% oxygen. Normal pressure at sea level is 1.0 ATA. A hyperbaric chamber changes both numbers at the same time. Inside an Oxify chamber, the pressure rises to 1.5 ATA in our soft-shell models or 2.0 ATA in our hard-shell models — pressures similar to being 16 to 33 feet underwater — while the oxygen you're breathing jumps from 21% to over 95%.

STEP 01PRESSURE RISES
STEP 02O₂ DISSOLVES INTO PLASMA
STEP 03OXYGEN REACHES STARVED CELLS

Why it matters: Normally your red blood cells carry almost all your oxygen. Under pressure, oxygen also dissolves directly into your plasma — the fluid your blood is made of. Plasma reaches places red blood cells can't, including slow-healing tissue, inflamed areas, and parts of the brain. That's the whole mechanism.

The cellular response

Four things start happening when your cells are flooded with oxygen.

01

Your cells make more energy

Every cell has tiny engines that run on oxygen and produce the energy you use each day. Give them more oxygen, they run better. This is why people describe feeling more alive and less tired after a few weeks.

02

Your body releases more repair cells

Your body has its own repair crew — cells that rebuild tissue and replace damaged ones. Research shows regular HBOT can multiply these by up to eight times in your bloodstream.

03

Inflammation calms down

Low-grade inflammation is behind a lot of modern problems — stiff joints, brain fog, slow recovery. Oxygenated tissue produces less of the signals that keep inflammation running.

04

New blood vessels grow

Over a series of sessions, your body builds new tiny blood vessels into areas that were getting less oxygen than they needed. More vessels means better delivery of everything for the rest of your life.

None of this requires a prescription or a diagnosis. These are normal responses to oxygen delivery under pressure — they happen whether you're a serious athlete, an executive managing stress, or simply someone who wants to feel their best for as long as possible.

Section 03 · The five pillars

What it can do for you.

These aren't medical claims — they're the categories of change people describe after integrating HBOT into their routine for 30, 60, 90 days.

✦

Recovery & injury healing

The most well-documented benefit. Faster soft-tissue repair, reduced swelling, shorter recovery between hard training days, and faster return from injury. This is why HBOT became standard in professional sports before anyone else paid attention.

✦

Performance & endurance

More oxygen to working tissue means more available energy and less perceived effort. Users report training harder with less fatigue, and staying in peak condition longer into a season or a stretch of heavy work.

✦

Longevity & anti-aging

Research has shown that regular HBOT sessions can reverse two of the most important markers of biological aging — essentially, cells start behaving younger. This is where much of the current excitement in longevity science is coming from.

✦

Cognitive function & clarity

The brain uses about 20% of your body's oxygen despite being only 2% of its weight. When oxygen delivery to brain tissue improves, so does how you feel — sharper focus, better memory, less brain fog. This is why founders and operators quietly use HBOT as much as athletes do.

✦

Sleep & nervous system recovery

Sessions shift the nervous system out of fight-or-flight and into rest-and-repair. Users commonly report falling asleep during sessions and sleeping dramatically deeper for 24 to 72 hours afterward. Sleep is where everything else in your body gets rebuilt.

What the research shows

HBOT is one of the most-studied therapies in performance medicine.

HBOT has been used medically for more than 50 years, with a research body spanning decades and tens of thousands of patients. Here's a snapshot of what peer-reviewed studies have documented.

Muscle recovery

Meaningful reductions in muscle-damage markers after hard exercise. Shorter recovery times between training sessions and faster return from injury.

Inflammation

Lower levels of the body's inflammation signals across multiple studies — the same markers doctors track to measure how much low-grade stress your body is under.

Wound & tissue healing

Decades of documented medical use for hard-to-heal wounds and tissue damage. The oldest, most-established application of HBOT.

Cognitive performance

Better memory, focus, and mental clarity measured in adults. Ongoing trials for brain recovery after concussions and strokes.

Anti-aging at the cellular level

Published research shows that a structured series of HBOT sessions can reverse two of the most important markers of biological aging in older adults — essentially, cells start behaving younger.

Repair cell activity

Up to 8× increase in the body's own repair cells circulating in the blood after a series of sessions, per research from the University of Pennsylvania.

Section 05 · The two questions

Soft or hard. Sitting or lying.

Two decisions determine 80% of which chamber is right for you. Get these right and the rest gets simple.

Decision one · Soft shell vs hard shell
Soft shell$12K — $17K

Inflatable cabin construction. Lighter, more portable, easier to move and store. Maximum operating pressure of 1.5 ATA — comfortably in the wellness, recovery, and longevity range. The most common starting point for home users.

Hard shell$36K — $79K

Steel and acrylic construction. Heavier, permanent placement, professional-grade build. Operates up to 2.0 ATA — the pressure used in research and clinical protocols. Built to last decades of daily use.

Decision two · Sitting vs lying down
Lying downFor napping & deep rest

You stretch out fully like on a bed. Most people fall asleep during sessions. Best for evening use or recovery from training. Slightly larger footprint.

SittingFor reading & daily use

You sit upright in a more compact chamber. Better for daytime sessions where you want to read or stay awake. Smaller footprint, fits more easily into a home office.

Section 06 · The pressure question

ATA, in plain English.

ATA stands for "atmospheres absolute" — the number that describes how much pressure is inside the chamber compared to the air pressure you breathe right now at sea level. Higher number, more pressure, more oxygen pushed into your body.

1.0
SEA LEVEL

Normal air, no chamber.

What you're breathing right now. About 21% oxygen at standard pressure. Reference point only.

1.3
WELLNESS FLOOR

Where wellness benefits begin.

About 10 feet underwater. Most soft shell chambers operate here. Delivers improvements in energy, recovery, sleep, and clarity for daily users.

1.5
SOFT SHELL CEILING

The wellness sweet spot.

About 16 feet underwater. The maximum on Oxify soft shell chambers. Strong recovery and longevity benefits without needing a hard shell.

2.0
CLINICAL DEPTH

Where research-grade physiology happens.

About 33 feet underwater. The pressure used in most peer-reviewed HBOT studies. Only available in hard shell chambers. Best for serious athletes or specialized protocols.

A common misconception: higher ATA isn't always "better." 1.5 ATA every day will outperform 2.0 ATA once a month. Consistency wins.

Section 07

The 4 costly mistakes most buyers make.

Read this section twice. Avoiding any one of these will pay for the time it took you to read this guide.

01Mistake one

Buying soft when you should buy hard. Or hard when soft would do.

Most buyers make this decision based on price — soft is cheaper, so they go soft. That's not how to make this call.

Soft shell chambers max out at 1.5 ATA. That's a real, useful pressure for daily wellness, sleep, and energy. But if your goal is the deeper research-backed effects — the longevity work, the post-injury recovery protocols pro athletes use, anything that requires 1.8–2.0 ATA — soft shell physically cannot deliver it. You'll spend $15K and discover six months later that you bought into a lower tier of the therapy than you wanted.

The reverse is also a problem. People with mild wellness goals sometimes get sold a $60K hard shell when a $14K soft shell would have served them perfectly. The hard shell sits unused because daily setup feels like overkill for a 45-minute nap-and-read session.

The fix

Decide your goal first, pressure ceiling second, then shell type. Not the other way around.

Most home buyers we talk to land on soft shell at 1.5 ATA. Most athletes and recovery-focused buyers go hard.
02Mistake two

Trusting the warranty without reading it.

A hyperbaric chamber is a machine you'll run for thousands of hours. Sooner or later, something will need attention — and the warranty is what decides who pays. In this industry, most warranties are shorter than buyers assume. Many run under two years. Plenty run under one.

Then there's the fine print. A "warranty" can cover the shell and nothing else — not the concentrator, compressor, zippers, seals, or gauges that actually wear. It can cover parts but not labor. It can require you to crate the chamber and ship it back at your own expense before anyone looks at it.

A short warranty isn't a technicality. It's the manufacturer telling you how long they're willing to stand behind what they built.

The fix

Ask three questions before you buy: How many years? What exactly is covered — shell, concentrator, compressor, seals? And who pays for labor and shipping on a claim? Get every answer in writing, and read what's excluded before you read what's included.

Every Oxify chamber comes with a 5-Year Comprehensive Warranty — materials and workmanship, parts included, labor covered one time. In writing, in your signed agreement.
Why Oxify is five years

HBOT works through consistency — 3 to 5 sessions a week, month after month, for years. A chamber built for that kind of use should be backed for that kind of use. A one- or two-year warranty runs out right around the time you've built the habit and the chamber is doing its real work. Five years covers the stretch when you'll use it hardest. And you can't offer five years on a chamber you expect back in eighteen months — we back ours for five because we built it to last well beyond that.

03Mistake three

Confusing "max pressure" with "operating pressure."

This is the dirtiest trick in the industry. Walk into any chamber showroom and ask what pressure their unit reaches. You'll get a number. That number is often a lab-test maximum the chamber hit once — not the pressure it's actually rated to maintain in a daily 60-minute session, every day, for years.

The gap between the marketing number and the real operating spec can be 0.3–0.5 ATA. That's the difference between a chamber that's doing what you bought it for and one that's drifting back toward sea level by minute 40.

You won't notice this for months. The damage is real but invisible — you're just not getting the results you expected, and you assume the therapy doesn't work for you.

The fix

Always ask for the continuous operating pressure spec, not the marketing number. If they hesitate or change the subject, that's your answer.

Every Oxify chamber spec we publish is the operating pressure. Not the marketing number. We think you'll appreciate why.
04Mistake four

Beware of the price you see.

The number on the quote is almost never the number you actually pay. Most companies advertise a low chamber price to win the click — then the real cost arrives in pieces. Shipping. Delivery and assembly. The oxygen concentrator. Replacement parts. Service calls. Annual maintenance. Each one is quoted separately, after you've already committed.

Buyers fixate on the chamber itself and ignore everything around it. But a hyperbaric chamber is a machine you'll run thousands of hours over a decade. Concentrators wear. Zippers, valves, and gauges need servicing. Something will eventually need a part — and when it does, the question isn't whether you'll pay, it's how much, and whether anyone even picks up the phone. Over five years, "extras" like freight, out-of-warranty repairs, and paid service visits can quietly add thousands to a chamber that looked cheaper on day one.

Then there's the return policy — where the fine print does the real work. "Risk-free" often means 14 days, chamber must be unused, in original packaging, with return freight and a restocking fee on you. By the time you've actually lived with the chamber long enough to know if it's right, the window has quietly closed.

The fix

Ask for the all-in number — chamber, concentrator, shipping, delivery, setup, warranty, and what a typical repair costs after year one. Then read the return policy line by line. A confident company puts all of it in writing, up front.

With Oxify, the price you see is the price you pay. Delivery, service, warranty, and lifetime support are built in — never added later. See the Legacy Program below for everything that's included.

Section 09 · A typical session

Sixty minutes. Here's what actually happens.

MINUTES 0–2

You enter and settle in

You step or lie down into the chamber. Room to stretch out and get comfortable. The interior is climate-controlled and lit softly. The door seals behind you.

MINUTES 2–10

Pressurization

The pressure slowly rises to your set target (typically 1.5 or 2.0 ATA). You'll feel fullness in your ears like the descent on an airplane — swallow, yawn, or gently pinch and blow. It equalizes within seconds.

MINUTES 10–55

Treatment at pressure

The therapeutic window. Most people describe it as the calmest 45 minutes of their day. Many fall asleep. Some meditate. Some simply rest. Your body is absorbing oxygen at pressure — no effort required.

MINUTES 55–60

Depressurization & exit

Pressure slowly returns to normal. Ears pop once or twice. Door opens. You step out. Most people report feeling deeply relaxed, mentally clear, and physically warm — similar to a long sauna or massage.

Section 10 · What we do differently

Why Oxify.

01

Design, without apology

Every other chamber on the market looks like hospital equipment. Ours don't. Oxify chambers are engineered to live in the home of someone who also cares about the rug it sits on. You won't have to hide it in the garage.

02

White-glove, from order to first session

We handle delivery and walk you through setup personally via a live video call with a dedicated technician — typically 5 to 10 minutes to get running, plus a full education on how to use your chamber. You never touch a manual.

03

Serious specs. No compromises.

A true 2.0 ATA operating pressure on hard shell. 95%+ medical-grade oxygen purity. Climate control. These aren't upsells — they're standard.

04

A team that picks up the phone

Our founders are reachable. Our technicians are named. If something isn't right, you talk to a person — not a ticketing system. The part most brands can't fake. The part that matters most after year one.

The people who put a chamber in their home don't want medical equipment in their living space. They want something that belongs there. That's who we build for.— Why Oxify exists

Section 11 · The basics

First-time questions, answered honestly.

Q. Is it safe?

Yes. HBOT has been used safely in hospitals and clinical settings for over 50 years. The most common side effect is temporary ear fullness during pressurization, similar to an airplane ascent — it equalizes on its own with a yawn or a swallow.

Q. What does a session actually feel like?

Most people describe it as the calmest 60 minutes of their day. You can read, listen to music, meditate, or nap. The chamber is climate-controlled and comfortable. You'll feel a slight fullness in your ears during pressurization, then nothing unusual.

Q. Will I feel claustrophobic inside?

Oxify chambers are specifically designed to avoid that — clear walls, large windows, ample interior space, soft lighting. If claustrophobia is a serious concern, we recommend trying a session at a nearby clinic before purchase.

Q. How often should I use it?

Most users do 3–5 sessions per week for the first 6–8 weeks, then 2–3 per week for ongoing maintenance. Daily use is safe for most healthy adults. Consistency matters far more than any single session.

Q. How long until I notice results?

Most people feel more relaxed and clear-headed after their very first session. Better sleep and reduced soreness typically show up within 1–2 weeks. The deeper effects — cellular repair, anti-aging markers, recovery capacity — build over 40+ sessions.

Q. How much space do I need in my home?

Roughly 8' × 4' including the concentrator unit, with about 7 feet of ceiling height. Most clients place theirs in a primary bedroom, a home gym, or a dedicated wellness room. Standard outlet, normal room temperature, no plumbing.

Section 11 (continued) · The serious questions

Cost, fit, and the things you actually want to know.

Q. How much does an Oxify chamber cost?

Oxify chambers range from the low five figures for our entry models up to the mid-to-high five figures for the flagship Forge. Pricing depends on the pressure rating, size, and included options. The best way to get an exact number is a 15-minute call with our team.

Q. Do you offer financing?

Yes. We offer flexible financing options to fit a range of situations. Your dedicated Oxify specialist will walk you through the options on your consultation call.

Q. What's included when I buy from Oxify?

Every purchase includes white-glove delivery, a live video-call setup and training session with a dedicated US-based technician (typically 5–10 minutes to get running, plus full education), a complete protocol guide, and ongoing technical support — all part of the Oxify Legacy Program™.

Q. Is this covered by insurance?

Generally no, for home use. Insurance typically only covers HBOT in clinical settings for a narrow list of specific medical conditions. Our clients treat their chamber the way they treat their gym membership or their sauna — an investment in the one asset that actually matters.

Q. Is there anyone who shouldn't use HBOT?

A small number of conditions are contraindications — untreated pneumothorax, certain ear and sinus conditions, and a few specific medications used during cancer treatment. We screen for all of these before purchase and recommend a conversation with your physician if you have an underlying condition.

Q. Does this replace exercise, sleep, or nutrition?

No. HBOT is an accelerator, not a substitute. What users consistently report is that it makes everything else work better — workouts recover faster, sleep gets deeper, supplements feel more effective. It multiplies the returns on what you're already doing.

Q. Do I need a prescription?

No prescription is required for the home-use chambers we sell. These are classified as wellness devices. If you have any underlying medical conditions, we always recommend a conversation with your physician before starting.

Section 12 · Your next step

When you're ready, we're ready.

You've read enough. The next step isn't more research — it's a 15-minute conversation with a real person on our team. No pressure, no scripts, no sales pipeline. Just answers.

We'll walk you through which Oxify fits your space, your goals, and your timeline. We'll talk through financing if it's relevant. If it's not the right time, we'll tell you. That's it.
